Get ready for winter with this different version of the popular hot chocolate. This Asztec hot chocolate will surely be a new favorit. The richness of the chocolate combined with the chili is an experience worth your while. The Mayans were the first people in the world to drink hot chocolate - a drink they used to call ‘The Drink of The Gods’.  

So find a blanket and get cozy, read your favorite book or magazine and drink this lovely classic with health beneficial ingredients and a clear conscience.  

Served in Crispy Lowball.

Dream yourself away to the Asztecs

  • 3 cups of milk
  • 1 cinnamon stick (5 cm)
  • 1 long red chili (cut into 1/3)
  • 150g Dark Chocolate (70 %), chopped
  • 2 tbs. Brown Sugar (optional)



    • Marshmallows, to serve
    • Ground Cinnamon, to serve


      1. Heat the milk, cinnamon stick and chili in a saucepan over medium-high heat for 6-8 minutes or until boiling. Set aside for 10 minutes to infuse.
      2. Strain into a clean saucepan, discarding solids. Heat over medium heat for 3-4 minutes or until hot (don’t boil). Reduce heat to low. Add chocolate, sugar and whisk until smooth.
      3. Pour into glasses.
      4. Top with marshmallows and sprinkle with ground cinnamon.

        I recommend using our Crispy Lowball and Love Lid 1 to serve and storage of treats.
